Running a Marathon or a half marathon is a real personal challenge. The pace leaders will be there to support the runners all along the course.
They were originally devised on the occasion of the Paris Marathon in 1998 by Dominique Chauvelier, quadruple Marathon French champion. “"The initial idea came from the observation that the champions were entitled to hares to break records and that the peloton runner had to manage on his own.
The pace leaders are a precious help to a regular run without having to worry too much about the clock. They motivate runners and help them manage with their refreshments and the the course’s hardships. They provide real psychological support".
To lead runners and help them achieve their goals, the pace leaders will be equipped with banners of different colors depending on their pace.
